Jim Benskin started Urban Greenhouse in order to provide the finest and most comprehensive array
of micro-greenhouses and supplies for the floral enthusiast. He wanted our enthusiasts to be able
to select, build, equip and enjoy the wonderful world of cultivating and demonstrating their
horticultural delights at home or in their offices.
Jim’s experience as an educator and orchid club president has led him to develop a resource for
recreation therapists, horticulture therapists and Master Gardeners who are grounded in the
theories of development, continuity and exchange frameworks for the aging.
It is his hopes that professional of gerontology; youth services and health care will be able to
use our resources to help their clients tap into the life-enhancing properties of plants.
